Day #2 of Anime Screencap Week! We'll be going over a bit of Gao Gai Gar. Gao Gai Gar was a rather silly giant robot show with an equally silly name, and was basically the anti-Evangelion of it's day. Everything about the mecha genre that Eva deconstructed, Gao Gai Gar gleefully embraced. Watching either after the other made one feel rather like a ping pong ball with a brain hemorrhage.
Not all of today's caps were taken by me, but were rather provided by a contributor to /bara/ some time back. Unfortunately I don't recall the chap's name. But thank you, whoever you are!
Now then, allow me to draw your attention towards our true topic for today.
His name is Geki Hyuuma, and never let him talk on your phone.
No shirtsleeves in existence could possibly contain the buffness of his arms! He also has a ridiculous green mohawk. They offset his stylish yellow shades nicely.
The Gao Gai Gar wiki describes him as "the walking epitome of the word 'Macho'", and also briefly mentions his "tanned muscles". These are good things for a wiki to say!
But what about the really important stuff?
Like . . . his ability to shred his shirt apart via flexing?
This one time, in episode 15, he got caught in an attack on the base.
While saving a teammate he ended up with, well . . .
Some clothing damage.
Later in the episode, he went out in the StealthGao to help in the battle against the monster of the week . . . in just his underwear(!!!)
This angle gave the straight fans nightmares.
Guess his clothes were too damaged to repair in time, or something . . . ?
Well, I guess stuff like this is what separates the men from the boys. Bravery makes up the difference!

We just finished watching the first season of Gaogaigar in my weekly anime geek meeting and I had a feeling that if you saw it than a certain character would catch your eye! ^__~
